(Karen) Wendy Freed, M.D., QME

Dr. (Karen)Wendy Freed graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed her Psychiatry residency at the University of Washington. Her areas of expertise include Posttraumatic Stress, Sexual Violence and Refugee Mental Health. She was an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Washington until she moved back to Los Angeles in 2007, when she then served as an Associate Clinical Professor at USC doing research on child maltreatment for 3 years. She served as a Psychiatric Consultant at the UCLA Rape Treatment Center from 2010-2013, which led to her current tenure with the L.A. County Department of Mental Health. With her career in assessment and treatment as a backdrop, Dr. Freed developed her interest and expertise in the field of Forensic Psychiatry. She currently serves as a Qualified Medical Evaluator for the California Workers’ Compensation system.
